Replace East Valley Middle School (originally constructed 57 years ago)
Make necessary district-wide safety, security and infrastructure improvements across the remaining schools

How much will it cost?
The proposed $220M bond, which qualifies for an estimated $55M in state assistance, will cost an estimated $1.96/$1,000. With the expiration of the current Capital Levy this year ($0.73/$1,000), the bond represents an increase of $1.23/$1,000.

The replacement high school and middle school buildings will be constructed adjacent to the current sites, ensuring students remain on campus during construction, minimizing classroom disruptions and saving costs by eliminating the need for temporary portables.

The district has been bond debt free for over 15 years.

Compared to similar-sized school districts in Spokane and Stevens County, East Valley taxpayers currently pay the lowest local education tax rate.

The district successfully delivered on its prior 1996 bond; completing all projects and paying off the debt as promised.

The capital levy expires this year, reducing the current education tax rate by 73 cents.
